Thus, it is wonderfully appropriate to name our creative condominium project The Guthrie LOFTS. This residential building is only one block from the Tom Patterson Theatre and two blocks from the main Stratford Festival Theare.
Although this project has no official connection with the Stratford Festival, it is almost certain that the owner-residents of The Guthrie LOFTS will be people who appreciate Theatre, and whose decision to live in Stratford is strongly influenced by the rich cultural environment that has Theatre at its heart.
Beginning with Theatre, but extending through every aspect of community life, Stratford is Canada's most liveable city. At your doorstep is one of this nation's finest urban parks. It's only a short stroll to Tom Patterson Island, and before you go that far you are almost certain to encounter local residents enjoying their regular strolls all the way around Lake Victoria -- the centrepiece of the Avon River that provides such a beautiful setting for the Festival Theatre and the Tom Patterson Theatre.
It's also only a short walk to the delights of Stratford's City Centre, with its rich array of shops, services, and attractions -- especially the world-class restaurants as well as the renowed Stratford Chefs School, which offers unique culinery delights to discerning diners during the winter.
Although Stratford is a small city (under 30,000 people) in which one can count on neighbours for friendship and support, it is also the centre of government for Perth County. As a result, almost every type of government service is readily available locally, with an extra level of personal service because you are dealing with neighbours who care about your needs
In short, Stratford is the ideal Canadian community in every aspect, and it just happens to be one of the most beautiful as well as being home to North America's largest repertory theatre company -- with all the cultural enrichment that blossoms in a community that is home to so many creative people.
